Paint and Sip Night for under $10
My first event as the Earth System Science Wellness Liaison was a Paint and Sip Night!
We had around 14 grad students and postdocs paint their stresses away.
Here are my notes on how I made this event cost < $10 per person!
Note: the idea was based on a post by Tracie Kiernan. Thanks Tracie!
To Do List:
Make a flyer using Adobe Spark. They have great free templates for paint nights.
Make an RSVP form using Google Forms, ~2 weeks before the event.
Order supplies (all from Michaels). I ordered enough supplies, so shipping was free.
Acrylic paint. There are many value packs to choose from, but this set has the largest color choice. I estimated around 0.25 oz. of paint per person for each color. This was more than enough. Cost: ~$2/person.
Paint brushes. I bought this set of 25 assorted brushes. Cost: $0.80/person.
Canvases. This pack includes 7 canvases. Cost: $1.70/person
Buy plastic cups (2 per person), paper plates (2 per person), and trash bags (~1 per table). Cost: ~$3/person.
Buy your favorite wine, EANABs, and snacks. Cost: ~$2.50/person
Set up on the day:
Use trash bags to cover tables.
Fill cups with water to clean paint brushes.
Lay out paper plates to use as palettes.
Lay out the snacks and wine.
Project Bob Ross onto your screen and play some soothing music! Enjoy!
